Pilotage:

Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels, whatever be their tonnage, when entering, leaving, moving, changing berth or shifting on Canal Waters or Port Said and Suez harbors. Any exemption must be explicitly authorized by the Suez Canal Authority

Except ed is Egyptian vessels under 300 tons SC.G.T. authorized to work in Canal Ports and Accesses, also Egyptian fishing vessels under 300 tons SC.G.T. (At Port of Suez : 300 tons SC.G.T.) However, if transiting Canal, the above is not applied.
